ACS Nuclear Medicine

Applied Cardiac Systems is enthusiastic about our relationship with Digirad. This agreement enhances our Cardiac Suite of diagnostic and therapeutic devices.

Now, ACS can help to meet your Nuclear Imaging needs. For the many physicians looking to expand an in-house nuclear program and improve the financial potential of their practice, ACS is offering a multimodality "Perfusion" package.

The exclusive "Perfusion" package includes the ACS NCP-Plus ECP bed and the Digirad SPECTpak plus portable gamma camera. The SPECTpak Plus system combines Digirad's highly successful 2020 Imager series camera and a custom matched SPECTour rotating chair. The Digirad camera utilizes an advanced, solid-state detector to produce excellent image quality and improved system reliability. This package offers diagnostic versatility, the convenience of mobility and a non-invasive means of treating perfusion defects.

Solid State Detector and nSpeed Technology

Traditional cameras use vacuum tubes in a two step process that first converts gamma rays to light flashes and then converts the light flashes to electrical signals. Although tube based cameras can produce quality images, performance degradation often occurs over time further lessening the procedural device viability (lifespan).

Digirad's technology replaces bulky vacuum tubes with smaller, lighter, more reliable solid-state detectors and semiconductors. Photons are converted to a digital output producing images with better contrast and spatial resolution over the entire useable field-of-view. This technology also features a thinner and lighter head resulting in the ability to position the head extremely close to the body while imaging all the way to the edge of the detector head. Unlike tubes, digital detectors do not degrade over time. This provides years of uniform clinical performance.

ACS is also pleased to offer Digirad's proprietary nSPEED technology. nSpeed is an advanced, three dimensional SPECT image reconstruction technique. This sophisticated algorithm provides clinicians with significant image quality improvement over existing 2D reconstruction. nSPEED rapid image acquisition protocols have demonstrated equivalent diagnostic quality images (stress and rest). This technique produces sharper, higher contrast images and is done in half the acquisition time of traditional 2D approaches. nSpeed provides reliable function quantization measurements from gated stress images and reliable quantization of perfusion-defect severity on stress and rest images.

2020tc

The 2020tc system features advanced acquisition, processing and viewing software. Performing exams is simple, efficient and ensures maximum consistency and quality. Digirad delivers proprietary solid-state technology combined with Direct Position Sensing. This robust combination yields exceptional spatial resolution that increases image contrast and image clarity for consistent, continuous performance.

The 2020tc Imager is a sound investment. It is compact in size and includes all-in-one architecture with on-board display and image analysis for physician viewing. Coupled with its Reach Accessory, Digirad provides a versatile and flexible gamma camera. This camera enables physicians to increase productivity without sacrificing valuable office space or undertaking renovations. This camera requires no floor anchoring and fits conveniently into a 7' x 9' (ft.) space. This lightweight instrument is merely 425 pounds.

SPECTour

Why Upright Technology?
The SPECTour is a secure platform that allows patients to be imaged while sitting upright. Why upright technology? The answer is simple. Upright technology improves patient comfort and enhances imaging quality.

The SPECTour arm rests provide stability and compliance while eliminating claustrophia. By sitting upright the diaphragm descends so the liver, gall bladder, and small bowel rest below the heart. Upright imaging has been shown to create less inferior left ventricular wall attenuation.

This approach also allows for cardiocentric imagining of the heart. Cardiocentric imaging yields fewer acquisition artifacts and the potential for certain types of false indications.

The compact size of the SPECTour enables mobile systems and a smaller footprint requiring less office space. This device can be moved effortlessly from location to location.
